Happy Birthday Dear Rylan...
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY RYLAN
On Rylan's official birthday
we celebrated at home with a new bouncer,
which he loves.
Then Rylan had his first ever cupcake.
He wasted no time digging in to enjoy it.
Then it was party time...
We celebrated Rylan's first birthday with our closest friends and family.
Rylan received tons of fun toys and cute outfits.
He wasn't really into opening his gifts, but luckily his big brother was there to help.
He did however, enjoy eating his cards.
Rylan was definitely getting tired around cake time, but he rallied.
Big brother, Gavin, helped blow out the candle
and even showed him how to dig his fingers into his very own cake.
I think he was just too tired to dig into his cake, as he did with his cupcake.
As soon as all the guests left, Rylan passed out.
Too much partying for this little 1 year old.
Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful gifts,
and for coming to share in our sweet Rylans first birthday!

Brotherly Love...
I Love...
how much they love each other!
that they love to play together!
how excited Rylan gets when his brother plays with him!
when Gavin will pretend to hurt himself just to entertain and hear his brother laugh!
when Rylan comes into our bed early in the morning and Gavin will wake up long enough to find his brother and hold his hand!
that Gavin always wants his brother to sit with him to watch morning cartoons!
that they already play fight and wrestle with each other!
when they give each other hugs and kisses!
I love these boys!

Merry Christmas to all...
We kicked our Christmas off with a visit to Santa.
I have to say... I love this picture.
Both boys did great, not a single tear shed.
Then we decorated our tree.
I skipped the glass balls this year, and investing in shatter proof ornaments.
Christmas morning was so much fun this year.
Last year Gavin was still too young to know what was going on,
but this year he figured it out pretty quick.
He received a very cool, and very loud tool set.
He absolutely loves it!
Yup, another construction truck,
because he doesn't have enough trucks all ready.
But the big present was a trike from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.
Equipped with a cool bell and streamers.
Rylan pretty much slept through the present opening portion of the day.
He does look pretty comfy in his new snow suit though.
We had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas.
No where to drive.
Stayed in our jammies all day.
Made a delicious Christmas turkey, with all the fixings.
All in all...
A Very Merry Christmas!

Sweater Party 2011
Our first outing as a family, since bringing baby Rylan home,
was to the Riggs' annual Sweater Party. Gavin had a chance to play with his friends, while Ian and I finally introduced Rylan to all of our closest friends.
It was another great Sweater Party hosted by the Riggs family.
Oh, and whoever invented shot-skies is GENIUS!

The Great Christmas Tree Hunt...
This years Christmas Tree hunt felt complete with all my boys...
Daddy, Gavin, and Baby Rylan.
Gavin and Daddy ready with their saw.
Gavin helped us look high and low, through row after row of trees,
until we found our perfect tree.
Gavin was a great supervisor as daddy cut down our Christmas Tree.
The perfect Christmas Tree because we found it as a family!

Home Bound
I couldn't believe it when the doctor walked into the room and casually said
"ok you ready to take him home".
I'm positive my jaw hit the floor in shock,
and maybe a little fear and horror.
All I could think was...
are they for real, have they seen how tiny this little guy is.
I mean he barely fits in his car seat.
I wasn't expecting to be able to take my precious baby home
for at least another week, but this was so perfect.
Rylan was coming home in time to spend Thanksgiving with his family.
So perfect and precious!
Welcome Home Baby Rylan
